This is Betty Larsen and her six-year-old mare Molly. I asked Betty if I could take her photograph a couple weekends back and she kindly obliged, even though it was about -35 with windchill. My mom has worked for Betty cleaning her house for a number of years and when I was really young, before I was even in school or during the summers when I was in school, I would go to Betty’s house and help “clean” with my mom. Really I would vacuum about one rug then run out to see all the horses. Betty was the initiator that started my love of horses. She would let me pet and brush them, and ride them in the pen under her supervision. I loved it. After my initial brushings with horses (pun intended) I was able to start taking riding lessons and my love of horses developed. None of which would have been true had this amazing lady not introduced the opportunity to me.
I used my Canon 7D camera, and my 16-35mm lens and my 70-200mm lens.
